Belvedere House, Gardens & Park welcome Simply Irish Cafes and wish them all the best as they commence service from Friday October 22nd

The café facilities at Belvedere are open to visitors only. Indoor dining facilities are open at Belvedere. Current Covid-19 public health measures are in place - vaccine certificates and identification will be required for admission to café indoor dining. Outdoor seating and take-away also available.

Westmeath County Council wish to advise following a tendering process a new contractor will be taking over the café contract at Belvedere House, Gardens & Park.
We wish to extend our thanks and good wishes to Kevin, Elizabeth, their family and all the staff at CaToCa Fine Foods & Giftware who have operated the café and gift shop at Belvedere for the last ten years.

Westmeath County Council is happy to advise that Belvedere House, Gardens & Park is NOW OPEN to visitors from across Ireland and our season ticket holders.
Please book your visit in advance.
All visitors are required to fully comply with HSE Guidance on protecting themselves and others from Covid-19 and with signage as erected.
Belvedere is open to enjoy the woodland walks, lakeshore and the stunning views including the Jealous wall and Gothic Arch. Takeaway coffee is served from a hatch outside the Visitor Centre.
Belvedere House will reopen shortly.

The Chairman of the Belvedere Committee, Mayor Billy Collentine welcomed the move as a sign that the country is emerging from this difficult period and that the public can enjoy this great facility.

In this first phase it will be open to enjoy the woodland walks, lakeshore and the stunning views including the Jealous wall and Gothic Arch. Other facilities in Belvedere will open as Government Guidelines and circumstances allow.

This includes 10km of trails, play areas, walled garden and fairy garden. Belvedere House remains closed. Purchase ticket’s online in advance.

CaToCa Fine Foods & Giftware operate the café at Belvedere and they are open for business working within the current guidelines. There is a limited menu for visitors offering take-away only.

Belvedere Christmas Activity Book

We will not be doing our usual Christmas event this year but we wanted to do something for all the boys and girls who would see Green Santa at Belvedere. See our Belvedere Christmas Activity Booklet . Download and print off the booklet. Please return the letter before December 22nd to info@belvedere-house.ie and Green Santa will acknowledge. Send the completed colouring page before 31st December to info@belvedere-house.ie to enter the competition. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions we cannot provide / accept physical copies‌ of the pages.

Customer Notice 28th May 2020

From Friday May 29th Belvedere House Gardens and Park is in a position to process season ticket renewals and facilitate new season tickets. We can accept credit/debit card payment, cheque payment and gift vouchers against season tickets for the moment. Due to social distancing we are working with less staff at reception so we ask our visitors to bear with us and we will deal with you as qucikly as possible. We are asking our visitors to stay within the national guidelines and only travel 5km from their home to exercise and to adhere to social distancing while enjoying the walks at Belvedere.

We hope as we move through the phases that we can welcome more people back soon.

Customer Notice 18th May 2020

Belvedere Walks and Garden will open on Tuesday May 19th from 9.30am – 8pm, last admission at 7pm to current season ticket holders only. Season tickets that have expired during the lockdown period will be accepted. At present we are not renewing or providing new tickets, and this is under review.

Season Ticket holders are advised to stay within the government guidelines and only travel within 5km of their homes for exercise. Adhere to social distancing at Belvedere while enjoying the walks.

We are all adjusting to these new changes in our lives and our workplaces. We will be continually assessing the situation, considering the health and safety of our staff and visitors and hope to welcome more people back soon.

Handkerchief Tree

The handkerchief tree was planted during the restoration of Belvedere back in the late 90’s and it takes 20 years to flower and is incredibly hard to grow from seed.
